5.3) Sunday: Race Day – “MITAS FINAL” and “LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL”
Sunday will be divided in Final and Super Final.
The top 50 riders from Saturday are qualified for the LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL (start 14:00), all other competitors will start in the MITAS FINAL (start 08:00).
5.3.1) “MITAS FINAL”
Saturday’s fifty-first (51) fastest rider and all competitors qualified behind will compete in the MITAS FINAL, starting at 08:00 on Sunday.
Location: Val di Luce
Track:
The MITAS FINAL race track will be approximately 7 km long (expected lap time 40 min).
The track will be marked with track tape and red signs.
Start:
Start will be at 08:00 at the Enduro Cross (service area)
The competitors will start individually one (1) rider every 20 seconds, in the order of their qualifying results (best qualified first).
Finish:
At the Enduro Cross (service area)
Outside Help:
No outside help is allowed, neither from public nor from team members. Only riders can help each other.
Check Card:
Every rider will have a Check Card that must be validated in every checkpoint.
If a checkpoint is missing the rider will be disqualified.
If a rider doesn’t deliver the time card at the end of the race, he may have to be disqualified.
Duration:
Race time will be two (2) hours plus the final lap – which riders have to enter before the 2-hour time limit.
Expected maximum race time for the winner will be 2 hours and 40 min.
The track will be closed at 12:00, riders who cannot finish the race in time (12:00) can/have to return to the paddock by alternative route. In this case, the last checkpoint registered during the final lap will determine the classification.
Classification:
Final results, the rider with the most laps finished in the shortest time will be the winner and so on.
If a rider does not finish before 12:00, the number of laps and checkpoints reached in his final lap will determine his result.
All results will be available on a live timing platform.
Premature Race Stop:
If, by any motive, the race must be stopped, classification will be done as follows:
Less than one (1) hour raced – the Race will be cancelled/Null
More than one (1) hour race time: Results will be determined by the number of laps finished plus the number of checkpoints reached in the fastest time during the lap the race had to be stopped.
5.3.2) “LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL”
Saturday’s fifty (50) fastest riders are qualified for the LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL starting at 14:00 on Sunday. Riders briefing for LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL will be at 11:00 on Sunday in the paddock in front of the race office (administrative control).
Location Start: Abetone, Ski Resort
Track:
The race track will be approximately 15 km long and has to be ridden twice (second lap will be slightly shorter).
The track will have one service area close to the Enduro Cross.
The race track will be marked with track tape and with red signs.
The top 50 riders will start with the exact time difference of their fastest qualifying lap from Saturday.
Start:
All competitors will have to enter the start area (at the Abetone Gondola bottom station) until 13:30 to prepare for the start. The competitors will start individually (one after another) according to/with the time difference of their Saturday Qualifying result/time. The first rider will start at 14:00.
Finish:
The finish will be at the service area/Enduro Cross after the second lap (which will be slightly shorter).
Outside Help:
No outside help is allowed, neither from public nor from team members. Only riders can help each other.
Assistance Area:
The race track will have one Assistance Area where ONLY the rider is allowed to refuel, change parts and service/repair the bike. One team member per rider will have access to the Assistance Area to prepare tools and parts – no tire or wheel changes! But keep always in mind: ONLY the rider is allowed to work on the bike. Time spent in the Assistance Area counts as race time.
Check Card:
Every rider will have a Check Card that must be validated in every checkpoint. If a checkpoint is missing the rider will be disqualified. If a rider doesn’t deliver the time card at the end of the race, he may have to be disqualified.
Duration:
The track/lap has to be completed twice (second lap will be slightly shorter).
Expected race time for the winner is 3 hours 15 min.
Maximum race time will be four (4) hours respectively two finished laps.
The track will be closed at 18:00, riders who cannot finish the race in time (18:00) can/have to return to the paddock by alternative route. In this case, the last checkpoint registered during the final lap will determine the classification.
Riders who are not able to finish the first lap (till check point 16/service area) within 3 hours are taken out of the race.
Classification:
The winner will be the rider who finishes two laps first – respectively the rider with the most valid checkpoint registrations in the right order and in the least amount of time.
Final results will be determined considering the number of checkpoints validated per rider.
All results will be available on a live timing platform.
Premature Race Stop:
If, by any motive, the race must be stopped, classification will be done as follows:
If the race leader at that time has not finished the first lap respectively has not reached check point 16, in front of the service area – Race will be cancelled/Null
If the race leader has finished the first lap respectively has passed check point 16, in front of the service area – full championship points will be given.
The final results will be determined by the number of checkpoints reached in the fastest time during the lap the race had to be stopped.
