FIM Hard Enduro World Championship Supplementary Regulations

ANNOUNCMENT

 

 

 

 

 

June 22nd, 2021

 

 

IHE S.R.L.S. will promote a round of the 2021 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship on behalf of

the Federazione Motociclistica Italiana (FMI). The event will be held in accordance with the Sporting Code of the FIM together with the relevant Appendices, these Supplementary Regulations and any final instructions approved by the FIM International Jury

 

Supplementary Regulations: ABESTONE HARD ENDURO 2021

 

FIM World Championship Enduro License Holders competing for FIM Hard Enduro World Championship points in the above event are forced to act in accordance with:

  • the Sporting Code of the FIM (incl. all appendices)
  • Supplementary Regulations as following
  • and any instructions by the FIM International Jury during the

2)  Registration

 

All registrations have to be made in writing by an electronic entry form available on the web site: www.iridehardenduro.com

 

Registrations will become valid once the:

  • championship fee / event fee has been received on the announced account (no fees in 2021!)
  • the entry form has been signed, at Administrative Control on
  • the competitor has signed the possible disclaimers during Administrative

 

 

3)  Administrative Control

 

Administrative Control will take place on Friday July 9th, 2021 starting at 08:00

in the Paddock Area located at LOCALITA’ VAL DI LUCE / ABETONE.

 

All competitors have to submit:

  • FIM World Championship Enduro License
  • During Administrative Control, transponders and mounting instructions will be distributed (deposit).

 

 

 

 

4)  Technical Control

 

Technical Control will take place on Friday July 9th, 2021 starting at 08:15

in the Paddock Area located at LOCALITA’ VAL DI LUCE / ABETONE.

 

All competitors have to submit their motorcycle prepared according to the Hard Enduro Technical Rules. Following parts will be marked:

  • Frame (right hand steering head)
  • Crankcase (right or left side)
  • Silencer (on the top)

 

Marked parts must be used throughout the entire competition and must be in their proper place at the final examination.

 

Sound Control:

Sound Control will be done based on "2mMax Method". Sound limits are:

  • 114 dB/A ahead of race,
  • 115 dB/A after the

 

Each rider or his mechanic can present a maximum of one (1) motorcycle and one (1) spare silencer. Should damage or deterioration occur to the original silencer it may be changed for the marked silencer without penalty.

 

Tires:

As the entire event ABESTONE HARD ENDURO will take place on private land or using only officially closed roads:

  • motorcycles don't have to be street legal
  • should have to have a light mask mounted in the front
  • homologated Enduro and Motocross tires are permitted. Tires shall be available for purchase to the

 

 

5)  Event Format

 

  • Friday: Training Day - "ELEVEIT XTREME TEST"

 

Location: Val di Luce

 

Track: The ELEVEIT XTREME TEST will be a three (3) to five (5) minutes lap on difficult terrain.

 

Schedule:

Free practice: 10:00 – 12:00 only FIM World Championship Enduro License Holders Free practice: 12:00 – 15:00 all other competitors

Time practice: 16:00 – 18:00 (one timed lap, one lap for each competitor)

 

Start - Time Practice:

Competitors will start individually with twenty (20) seconds time interval.

FIM-Competitors according to starting numbers, followed by Amateurs according to starting numbers (both groups, lowest number first).

 

 

 

 

Classification:

The participation is optional and not mandatory to take part in qualifying session on Saturday.

On Saturday, competitors will start according to their Time Practice Time (fastest first) all others (who did not participate in Time Practice) will follow in order of their starting numbers.

Any rider that deliberately goes around any obstacle will get a One (1) Minute Penalty on his best lap time.

 

 

5.2)  Saturday: Qualifying Day - "JUST1 SPECIAL TEST"

 

Location: Val di Luce

 

Track:

The JUST1 SPECIAL TEST will be approximately 10 km long and will be marked with KTM track tape and blue signs.

The track can be entered three (3) times, according to fixed, individual starting times. One (1) timed lap is mandatory to be qualified for Sunday.

 

Schedule:

All Competitors will be divided in three (3) equally large groups, FIM-Competitors will all be in Group A and will open the qualifying sessions, followed by Amateurs of Group A and Group B and C respectively.

The track can be entered three (3) times, according to fixed, individual starting times.

 

Start:

Competitors will start individually with twenty (20) seconds time interval in order of their Time Practice Time (fastest first) all others (who did not participate in Time Practice) will follow in order of their starting numbers.

Starting times are spread over the entire day to provide equal chances in terms of possibly changing track- and weather- conditions. Details see below under section/point 12) "FIM Event Schedule".

 

Classification:

Best single lap time of Saturday's JUST1 SPECIAL TEST determines the starting order for Sunday's LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL (top 50 riders) and the MITAS FINAL (all other competitors).

 

 

5.3)  Sunday: Race Day - "MITAS FINAL" and "LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL"

 

Sunday will be divided in Final and Super Final.

Top 50 from Saturday are qualified for the LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL, all other competitors will start in the MITAS FINAL.

 

 

5.3.1)  "MITAS FINAL"

 

Saturday's fifty-first (51) fastest rider and all competitors qualified behind will compete in the MITAS FINAL. Starting at 09:00 on Sunday competitors will start individually (one after another).

 

Location: Val di Luce

 

Track:

The MITAS FINAL race track will be approximately 15 km long (no assistance area). It will include most of Saturday's Just1 Special Test plus multiple, additional Hard Enduro sections.

It will be marked with KTM track tape and blue signs.

 

 

 

 

Start:

Start will be at 09:00, the competitors will start individually one (1) rider every 20 seconds, in the order of their qualifying results (best qualified first).

 

Outside Help:

No outside help is allowed, neither from public nor from team members. Only riders can help each other.

 

Check Card:

Every rider will have a Check Card that must be validated in every checkpoint, approx. five (5). If a checkpoint is missing the rider will be disqualified. If a rider doesn’t deliver the time card in the end of the race, he may be disqualified.

 

Duration:

Maximum race time will be three (3) hours, after three (3) hours the track will be closed (12:00a.m.). Riders who cannot finish the race in time must return to the paddock by alternative route.

Last checkpoint registered inside the three (3) hours will determine the classification.

 

Premature Race Stop:

If, by any motive, the race must be stopped, classification will be done as follows: Less than half of the checkpoints raced – Race will be cancelled/Null

More than half of the checkpoints raced – Results will be determined by the number of checkpoints reached in the fastest time.

 

Classification:

Final results will be determined considering the best lap time respectively by the number of checkpoints reached in the fastest time.

All results will be available on a live timing platform.

 

 

5.3.2)  "LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL"

 

Saturday's fifty (50) fastest riders are qualified for the LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL starting at 14:00 on Sunday. Riders briefing for LIQUI MOLY SUPER FINAL will be in the paddock at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

 

Location: Abetone, Ski Resort

 

Track:

The race track will be approximately 20 km long and will have one Assistance Area. All the race track will be marked with Liqui Moly track tape and with red signs.

50 riders will start with the exact time difference of their qualifying lap from Saturday.

 

Start:

All competitors will have to enter the pre-start area until 13:00 p.m. to go to the start in a convoy (close distance). From the start area/the start competitors will start individually (one after another) according to/with the time difference of their Saturday Qualifying result/time.

 

Outside Help:

No outside help is allowed, neither from public nor from team members. Only riders can help each other.

 

 

 

 

Assistance Area:

The race track will have one Assistance Area where ONLY the rider is allowed to refuel, change parts and service/repair the bike. One team member per rider will have access to the Assistance Area to prepare tools and parts. But keep always in mind: ONLY the rider is allowed to work on the bike.

Time spent in the Assistance Area counts as race time, will add to the time spent on the track.

 

Check Card:

Every rider will have a Check Card that must be validated in every checkpoint. If a checkpoint is missing the rider will be disqualified. If a rider doesn’t deliver the time card at the end of the race, he may be disqualified.

 

Duration:

Maximum race time will be three (3) hours.

Riders who cannot finish the race in time must return to the paddock by alternative route. Last checkpoint registered inside the three (3) hours will determine the classification.

If, by any motive, the race must be stopped, classification will be done as follows: Less than half of the checkpoints raced (by the leader) – Race will be cancelled/Null

More than half of the checkpoints raced (by the leader) – full championship points will be given. The final results will be determined by the number of checkpoints reached in the fastest time.

 

Classification:

Final results will be determined considering the number of checkpoints validated. The rider with the most valid checkpoint registrations in the right order and in the least amount of time will be the winner.

8)  Price-Giving Ceremonies

 

Flower Ceremony:

Will take place ASAP (10 min) after the finish of the 3rd place rider at ABETONE Ski Resort

 

Official Price-Giving

Earliest 30 min after the official result has been published. In the Paddock at VAL DI LUCE approx. 18:30

Pre-Event Meeting:

July 9th at 20:00 in the Jury Meeting Room (Paddock) after Admin. and Tech. Control.

FIM International Jury, Timekeeping, Event Organizer and Series Promoter have to be present.

 

Jury Meetings: will be scheduled during the Pre-Event Meeting and on short notice at any time appropriate in the Jury Room (Paddock)

 

Debriefing: on July 11th at 19:00 in the Jury Room (Paddock)

National competitive license holders will be able to register in the Expert category or in the Amateurs category. The best 3 of each category will be awarded.

The Pro, Expert and Amateurs paths are the same.

 

If you are a rider, who participates in national or regional classic Enduro events, the best choice is the Amateurs one, the same advice for those, who prefer Hard Enduro, but don't have much experience.
