Hard Enduro World Championship 2023 Season: Countdown!

Abetone, Tuscany, May 17th. Reconnaissance, redesign, refinement. Michele Bosi never stops on the still wet winter slopes of Abetone and Val di Luce, he won't go racing in Serbia so as not to give up his "job" at Red Bull Abestone '23. It is he who helps us to take stock of the situation. The Hard Enduro World Championship is about to start. The third season of that perfect mix between technique, entertainment and nature is on the springboard. 7 races scheduled for the 2023 season. Starting from Serbia with Xross, it will end in Germany with the 24MX GetzenRodeo on the first weekend of November. After the Hard Enduro in Serbia it will be the turn of the ErzbergRodeo and then, the long weekend of July 7-9, here is Red Bull Abestone 2023, third round of the World Championship, third edition. Yes, Red Bull Abestone is "the same age" as the Championship, Bosi's Race was born with and for the World Championship, modeled to freely express the maximum potential of the specialty. The Championship and the Bosi's Race "pull" each other and make the Hard Enduro phenomenon grow.

Third season. Hard Enduro World Championship crowned Billy Bolt the first year, and Manuel Lettenbichler in 2022. The German son of art and KTM official is the reigning champion, the "keeper". He beat Mario Roman, Sherco, and the eternal, immeasurable Graham Jarvis, Husqvarna to the wire. "Mani" Lettembichler had to give up the first of 2022, returning from an operation, then left the deep mark of 5 formidable victories, Serbia, Erzberg, Abestone, Outliers and Hixpania. The English friend and main opponent, Billy Bolt, had stood up to him for half of the championship, then ended the season prematurely to have a surgery intervention. “Sir” William returned in winter and won the SuperEnduro World Championship. Here, at the dawn of the third season, the Hard Enduro World Championship already has its promise of hyperspace in the cartel challenge, the "bid" between Lettenbichler and Bolt. The World Championship is growing continuously, this year the Juniors will be given an even stronger voice and the Women's Championship will also take off.

Xross is something that vaguely resembles a Rally and shifts the technical-physical balance to resistance (or resilience?) over the 4 days of competition. Erzberg is the now “sinister” Austrian mine massacre. Thus other appointments, such as Red Bull Romaniacs, tend to "exhaustion" by making the "natural" selection of the participants converge on the overall harshness of a very long confrontation. Red Bull Abestone is different, we have seen it, something special. It's like imagining a razor-sharp stiletto in an arsenal of cleavers. It is a flicker of pure technique that costs unspeakable effort and produces the special effect of spectacular satisfaction, of the fulfillment of the mission as it was imagined, that is, bringing to light the unique qualities of the Hard Enduro Champion. For this reason it is imagined that it is from the spectacle of the Tuscan Apennines that the right Champion will emerge from the perspective of the new season. Lettenbichler, Bolt, Jarvis, therefore, but also Roman, Young, Gomez. And why not focus on the flowering of one of the promising young champions produced by the World Hard Enduro formula created by Winni Kershhaggl? Already last year we saw a lot of beauty in the new advances. Like Matthew Green, the South African Junior World Champion who rides with Rigo, or the Bulgarian Teodor Kabakchiev, or the Canadian Tristan Hart or the Czech David Cyprian.

Seven rounds of the World Championship.
in order Xross Serbia, Red Bull ErzbergRodeo Austria, Red Bull Abestone Italy, Red Bull Romaniacs Romania, Red Bull Outliers Canada, 24MX Hixpania Spain, 24MX GetzenRodeo Germany. 7 super-accurate selection areas from which the 2023 World Champions will come out. It will be an excellent season, that's for sure. We are definitely betting on Red Bull Abestone. Partly because it is the Italian event, if you allow us, partly because its formula is an exciting crescendo of performance and technique, and a lot, it must be said, because Michele Bosi's Race was born by perfectly combining the idea original of a special Hard Enduro with the performance needs of the newborn World Championship.

Why Red Bull Abestone can be considered the Zenith of the Hard Enduro World Championship?

Abetone, Tuscany, April 25, 2023. Let's go to the crime scene to understand better. Red Bull Abestone suddenly became, in 2021 at the first edition, the reference test of the newborn World Championship, and still everything was to be deciphered. Third appointment of that year calendar, on that second weekend of July, all of a sudden the enthusiasts and the specialists realized that something magical and… infernal had happened.
That alchemy, which was due to the sorcerer's apprentice at the time, Michele Bosi, had in fact changed the cards of the deck, old and a little worn, of the still undefinable Hard Enduro. Red Bull Abestone had become the Zenit of the Hard Enduro World Championship.
Today, a long and already excited eve, one wonders why Red Bull Abestone instantly entered that small circle of events which, let's face it, imposed the good rules of the new game. How come? What happened? What is so special about Red Bull Abestone? Let's see together.

The Scene. There is no doubt. Perhaps the moment was peculiar, perhaps a stroke of luck, more likely an act of far-sighted intelligence by the interlocutors. The fact is that Michele Bosi went to knock on the doors of the most important ski area in the Apennines, Abetone and Val di Luce, and he was told: "Welcome!" Thus Red Bull Abestone was able to write the pages of its organizational adventure on a breathtaking stage. Red Bull Abestone's Zenith is the peak at 1,900 meters above sea level, the cable car station, and the development of the race dominates the breathtaking panorama of the two valleys on which the track is designed. The glance and the aerial vision, a privilege of competitors and spectators, are one of the sensational uniqueness of Red Bull Abestone.

The Designers. There was nothing before. Just Bosi's idea. There were friends, though. Among these Winfried "Winni" Kershaaggl, the Promoter of what was becoming a World Cup, Michele Barbirati, the passionate distributor of Liqui Moly. The combined energy of those three star players… all hell broke loose. Fulminant the first edition, other partners have joined, each to "dress" a phase or a scenario of Red Bull Abestone. Acerbis covered one of the key passages of the Race, the pebbles of the "Minestrone", in yellow, Mitas took over the Final B of the Event, Akrapovic and Just 1 painted the qualifying and the Ram Line, Lavor has been there since day one, irreplaceable.

Difficulty calibration. It is the stroke of genius of the Organizer in respect for the competitorsRed Bull Abestone is a crescendo of difficulty, "programmed" in such a way that even amateurs can be in the game. An example? “Minestrone” track. It was reserved for the gods of the final, today Bosi has traced an easier "path" on which to pass all the others. As the difficulties grow, it is clear that the Liqui Moly Grand Final will be a bargain for the few, but the Mitas Final B will stage the competitive show of merit conquered by the GoldSilverBronze and Iron.

There's more, we'll tell you about it next time...

Red Bull Abestone. Crescendo Entusiasmante, Hard Enduro per Tutti

Abetone, Toscana, 4 Aprile 2023. Red Bull Abestone.

30 Giugno, deadline iscrizioni a tariffa ridotta

Red Bull Abestone. An Exciting Crescendo, Hard Enduro for Everyone

Abetone, Tuscany, April 4, 2023. Red Bull Abestone. The turning point of the Hard Enduro, a stratospheric and original race in its "aerial" configuration, always in the fast lane of the World Championship with its "democratic" formula. Hard Enduro shouldn't be a sentence or a punishment, instead it has to be the state of the art of Enduro, by definition an exciting range of enjoyable off-road matter that can be enjoyed by "Pros" and Amateurs. Michele Bosi, the inventor of the Italian World Championship date, says it, and he demonstrates it by illustrating the evolution of his Race in view of the imminent third edition.

Hard Enduro is not an impossible mission. That’s why Red Bull Abestone has a clear formula. 4 merit classes, IronBronzeSilver and Gold, and therefore progressive difficulty, calibrated routes. Everyone should and can participate in Red Bull Abestone, and measure themselves to their level of skill and spirit. The prospect is and remains that of a personal, "inevitable" leap in quality. This is why Bosi has put those "steps" on the most spectacular and selective track of the World Championship, that allow everyone to advance on the ladder of skill. And of course to progressively compete with the rest of the troop, with the unattainable Gods of the specialty or with friends and companions of the Red Bull Abestone expedition.

In a nutshell: do not be afraid! Hard Enduro is also an extreme competition, of course, but in Bosi's vision it is the Race-Test to gain a higher level of one's experience on the incomparable stage of the Apennines between Abetone and Val di Luce. Registrations are open and will be at a reduced rate until the end of June. Don't miss the opportunity, don't think too much about it, in fact, just take a look at the list of members to understand that we are flying towards the ceiling of participants set by Michele Bosi.

The conspicuous points of Red Bull Abestone 2023.

The anticipation for the fourth stage of the Redbull Abestone Fim Hard Enduro World Championship increases every day.
Michele Bosi is preparing the big event!

On Saturday we understood that it will be a race open to all! Who perhaps for the first time, who already a frequent rider of the Hard Enduro circuit will have to face a qualification test with a low Hard Enduro level.

Things will change already on Sunday morning. This time the drivers excluded from Final A will find themselves in a medium difficulty ring. The race will go on for 2 hours and the classes to be awarded will be 4: Gold / Silver / Bronze and Iron.

If, on the other hand, you have the most extreme track in mind, you have to wait until Final A. It will be in the race that will start at 13 from the square in front of the Monte Gomito ski lift at 1942 meters! From then on there will be passages to the limit of the possible. The Top riders will immediately descend towards the Val di Luce and will face the legendary Minestrone. The first driver is expected to arrive at 13:10. After the Minestrone they will arrive at the Cannibalex which is located a few hundred meters then towards a path of a few km to reach Ibex Line "Lo stambecco".
After Ibex line they will move to the departure station of the cable car. They will go through the Tunnel, the Fossone and then up to the Sottomonte (near the 1900mt departure). The arrival at Sottomonte (destination already known from the first edition) is expected after about 1 hour and a half.
After the Sottomonte there is little to arrive ..... the last challenging piece of the Riva Rock.

For visitors we recommend these attractions. We will leave you a map to understand timetables and how to get there.
It will be a great show, we are waiting for you at the Welcome Point!

Registrations are open, click here!

Abetone, 16.05.2022 - Less than two months before the second edition, Red Bull Abestone reveals some anticipation on what will happen in the Pistoia mountains for the fourth stage of the Fim Hard Enduro World Championship!
Let's start from the paddock which will move a few hundred meters to the "Sprella" square, the main parking lot for the Val di Luce ski lifts. The opening for larger vehicles will be on Thursday evening while for smaller vehicles on Friday morning from 8 am.
From the end of the morning, registrations will always begin in the Val di Luce with delivery of the race number, transponder and motorcycle hallmark.

Adjacent to the new paddock there will be both the start of Q1 and Q2 (same route) and the parc fermé, another novelty for 2022.

Before arriving at the qualifying day, Friday afternoon will be dedicated to testing and setting up the bikes in the same route as the first edition. This time, however, the tests will not be timed and participation remains optional.

We arrive at the day of Saturday where the qualifications will take place from morning to evening.
Same rules for both Q1 and Q2. The best time of Q1 (two laps with two possibilities) will be added to the best time of Q2 (always two laps with two possibilities) to determine the Top 50 actually who will run the Final A and who instead (from the 51st onwards) the Final B.
The sum of the best times of Q1 and Q2 will also determine who of the best 16 will run the Straight Rhythm in piazza dell'Abetone. Up for grabs a longer time interval for the start of the Final A. Sixteenth, Eighth, Quarter, Semifinal and Final. Following awards and music in the town center.

We conclude with Sunday, Final A and B.
Final B starting at 9 am from Val di Luce will follow the same style of 2021, 2 hours of racing plus one lap. However, the track will be completely new, passing through the Final A route. Unlike last year, in this second edition the drivers will be divided according to the position reached into 4 categories: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron.
Between the awards ceremony of the 4 categories of Final B and the alignment of Final A we are already at the start for the Top 50.
This time you will have to take the cable car from Val di Luce or park in Abetone and go up with the Ovovia.
From 1942 above sea level the RedBull Abestone 2022 will start. See you

soon for all the other info on Sunday Afternoon!

Importante: tutto a fondo scala!

MB“La sera prima ero stanchissimo.

E siamo a Abetone.

English Version

Liqui Moly Abestone 2, save the date: 8-10 July, 2022!

Abetone, Italy, July 26, 2021Liqui Moly Abestone 2021, the first edition is archived. It was a success, strong and in some ways surprising, unexpected in size. Fortune? Good idea? Well thought out the formula? The Setting? In reality it is always a set of right and well-dosed ingredients. In this case Hard Enduro and World Championship, the excellent mix of competitive tension, technical content and entertainment. Also and above it was a great work, with great collaborations, all of passionate commitment! And when does an event see its success "certified"? When the next edition goes to the construction. Abestone 2022 will take placethe date is set: 8-10 July 2022. We want to hear from the Organizer, from Michele Bosi. It's time you told us about all the “opera”. Abetone, “Ovovia”, Val di Luce. Apennines, the Mountain. Soft images of forests swaying in the wind, of quiet streams and green landscapes just a finger from the blue of the sky. Yes, this too, but Abestone is when the mountain becomes stonee, when the torrent cascades become of stones, when the forest switch to a labyrinthine of impenetrable vegetation. Michele Bosi, the interview:

The first question the first minute after the conclusion of Abestone Edition 1: Will there be Abestone 2, 2022?

Michele Bosi. “Yes, Abestone 2022 will be there. The date has been set. 8-10 July 2022. From the date of confirmation, the OK.

Edition 1 ends, and Abestone 2 is already in the "construction site".

MB“The second edition already exists from the moment the first act ends well. It is in the awareness of being able to do well with the firm intention of doing better. Really much, much more better. If we made it this year, we are ready for a new edition. We immediately discussed with the Promoter, with Winfried Kershhaggl and signed an agreement for another three years of Abestone World Hard Enduro. This is also an award, like during the debriefings. Only compliments came. "

What did you want to bring to Abestone that you didn't find in the other races?

MB“Being in Italy is already something special. The Pistoia mountains, Tuscany, Florence, the warmth of the public. I wanted to do the race thinking of my fellow drivers and fans of this wonderful kind of sport and entertainment.

Which is the best congratulation and from whom?

MB"The best compliment is the immediate invitation to redo the event, which came from all those who helped to build Abestone. It is the commitment for the future. Of Abetone, its Mayor, of Val di Luce and of the Ovovia, of all those who manage this magnificent area with passion. They are all happy with what we brought to the Mountain, they did not expect it and now they ask us how many more times Abestone. The riders complimented then; everyone spoke very highly of the event. Now, when I meet them at the Competitions, I feel that they see me under a different light. It means that we have also satisfied the "actors". "

And what is the criticism?

MB“There was also some criticism, yes. Strangely, they came from federal circles, Tuscany in particular, of a "protocol" nature and do not linked to the competitive or organizational context. These are criticisms that I put there, I take them with me for the next edition. "

The first thought the next day?

MB“The night before I was so tired. I fell asleep mentally thanking a long list of people, one by one all those who have made Abestone possible. The day after. I wake up very early and the first thing that comes to my mind is to go and check where we have been, to restore where we have been in trouble. We did no damage, we respected the Mountain and its fans, because we admire both, because we live in that Mountains. Very few traces on the ground, but many in the comments of those who were there by chance and liked to stop during the walk and see what these “devils” can do. The other thought of the early morning was what to do to improve Abestone next year! "

A curiosity. The name. Abestone. Where is he from?

MB"The name. Abestone. My first important event. I wanted to give it a new name, but I wanted it to evoke the place. And we are in with Abetone. However, I liked the idea of giving it a little customization. Abe-stone came immediately, because there are really enough of “stone”. Trees and stones plus Abetone = ABESTONE. The name came by itself, right away. I confirmed it, registered it and went ahead with the creation of all this! "

Liqui Moly Abestone 2021. Vince William Joshua Bolt, detto Billy, Husqvarna!

Abetone, Italia, 11 Luglio 2021.

I primi volano letteralmente. Bolt è sempre all’attaccoLettenbichler in costante inseguimento.

Vince Antonio SaenzKTM 300.

Un’ultima cosa. Nicola Grossi, 15 anni. No video-games, Hard Enduro instead.

Michele BosiL’organizzatore. 35 anni, fiorentino.

William Joshua Bolt, aka Billy, Husqvarna, wins Liqui Moly Abestone 2021!

Abetone, Italy, 11th July 2021. Liqui Moly Abestone 2021 is added to the shelf of victories of Billy BoltHusqvarna. It is already history and records, and for the first time in the same history the Hard Enduro World Championship assigns the first points. It is the exceeded limit of the Enduro show. On the podium of the first edition also Manuel Lettenbichler, KTM, and Graham Jarvis, Husqvarna.

124 Bikers, 50 “filtered” from the Saturday qualifying round, they face each other in the final battle on the mountain between Abetone and Val di Luce. It was a vibrant race, a crescendo, the fast pace of Liqui Moly Abestone punctuated by the explosive action of Billy Bolt. The official English Husqvarna Rider was the fastest Friday in the free practice flash, the fastest in each of Saturday's qualifying jumps, lightning at the start of the Super Final on Sunday. The Super Final developed on the wavelength of its difficulties. There are few parts in which to stretch and breathe, but there you can be captured by the scenario, endless stony ground, treacherous valley bottoms, streams against the current strewn with stones. Bolt always on the attack, Lettenbichler in constant pursuit. The elastic lengthens and shortens, and from behind the pressure of the mith, Graham Jarvis. There is a coup de theatre near the refueling, when “Letti” overtakes “Billy”, but few hundred meters ahead the very british regain the command of the operations.

The Super Final is a clockwork device on two laps of the infernal track designed by Michele Bosi. About 15 Kilometers long yet the average speed is so low: you can imagine what’s the ground!
At the end of the first lap 5 Riders are still capable of winning, but it is already clear that Bolt has more fuel and freshest mental “processes”. The Gran Finale is so exciting, the audience has filled the Val di Luce, the clamour is a worthy preparation for a long day of so successful Italian sport. Just to begin. Liqui Moly Abestone has won its debut battle. William Joshua Bolt, aka Billy, breaks the horizon of the last, deadly stretch of the track, and enters history by climbing to the top of the first podium of Liqui Moly Abestone. The Hard Enduro World Championship broke the ice. Mister Winfried Kerschhaggl, soul and promoter of the World Championship, has his eyes shining. Michele Bosi is so happy!

Everyone deserves the honor of the Abestone epilogue. So also the "excluded" from qualifying face each other in the morning Mitas FinalAntonio SaenzKTM 300, wins.

Nicola Grossi, 15 years old. No video-games, Hard Enduro instead. Agonistically just born, but decided to grow up in Hard Enduro. The last of the finalists, with a KTM 125, he enter his first, important World cup experience.

Michele BosiThe organizer. 35 years old, Florentine. On motorcycles from the age of 4, racing from 12 onwards. He lived the Trial seasons as a protagonist, winning in Italy and abroad, from the World Championship to the 6 Days, with the colors of the National team and bringing other Bikers and his Teams into the race, organizing Teams and Events. One day he met the Hard Enduro on the mule tracks of the Apennines, an important crossroads of his passion. The switch. He becomes the Italian reference of Hard Enduro. He runs all the "Classics" of the world, delves into the theme of the challenge and the spectacular essence of difficulty. He leaves the metropolis and transfers his work and his life to the mountainHere he finds the inspiration to create the model Race: Liqui Moly Abestone Hard Enduro. The World Championship is born, the Promoter WESS calls Michele Bosi and invites him to organize the first Italian Test in history.

About Liqui Moly Abestone Hard Enduro. Michele Bosi decides, following a request by the International Motorcycle Federation, to give life to the Italian round of the Hard Enduro World Championship. Expert Rider and “healthy carrier” of ideas, Bosi suffered from lack of experience in terms of organization. Such inexperience hinders enthusiasm until some distinguished voices gather around the table. One of these is the competent sponsor, Liqui Moly. The lubricants producer of the Danube Valley, which embraced the discipline from its origins, developing a complicity of intentions based on the strong analogy among the different environments of human activity, in this case competitive and technical, equally surrounded by extreme conditions. On one hand, the sporting contest of the Rider against nature being the hardest, while on the other, the functioning of a thermal engine whose nature is stressed at ever increasing levels. Quality becomes a necessity. In this way a passionate collaboration was born, and from then on began the organization of the premium Competition Liqui Moly Abestone Hard Enduro, not just a promo combination.

Liqui Moly Abestone 2021. Shakedown, Qualifiche e… Billy Bolts!

Abetone, Italia, 10 Luglio 2021.

Tutto sotto controllo. Solo, attenti a quei due scemi!

È già Domenica. Finale e Super Finale Liqui Moly Abestone Hard Enduro. Campionato del Mondo, naturalmente!

Grazie!

Liqui Moly Abestone 2021. Shakedown, Qualifying and… Billy Bolt!

Abetone, Italy, July 10, 2021This is how it works: imagine the World Rally Car - hey, be careful, compared to the Hard Enduro of Liqui Moly Abestone the WRC is a Bolshoi ballet! - and take as example the Shakedown. Every Rider has 3 runs to test his technical and competitive credentials. At the end of the day his best timing on the Special Test apply and is registered. In addition, the gap created, either advantage or delay, will be transferred on to the Super Final on Sunday. Therefore, don’t try to get smart!
This goes to the gain of Liqui Moly Abestone’s technical depth and show. Saturday is marked by a short but tight schedule, decisive. No one spares himself and the rankings will be partial… yet truthful!
100% Race, 100% Liqui Moly Abestone.

We are therefore already in full reckoning. Almost everyone chooses to do 3 runs. Some, like Graham Jarvis, Husqvarna, are satisfied with 2. Billy Bolt, Husqvarna, never paid, unleashes his show as a champion on the whole program. 3 flips, 3 timings. The 3rd is the decisive one. Bolt lines up Manuel Lettenbichler, KTM. (best time at 2nd run) and then Tadeusz Blazusiak, GasGas, second run. The advantage of the British-Star-Player-With-Moustache is of 12.85 seconds. This means he will start, on Sunday,12.95 seconds before Lettenbichler and 22.67 before Blazusiak. Then Jonny Walker, +22.72, Wade Young, +29.24, Dominik Olszowi, +30.17, Sonny Goggia +37.94, and so on…

Don't lose your mind, you're not as good at math as I am. Let's move on to the Party Pasta Liqui Moly Abestone. Michele Bosi joins his pilots in the afternoon to announce the explosion of the Sunday event. it's a briefing, with… menus, as rightly befits a party. The atmosphere warms up, hearts draw closer, Liqui Moly Abestone brings the Italian breath to the Hard Enduro World Championship under the satisfied gaze of the Promoter, Winfried Kerschhaggl. Competition, Event, Passion. The hands of the gauges go to the red zone. They call it “delirium”. And still it's nothing ...

Ah, one last thing. Warmth and enthusiasm also have a little evidence of excess. Two jokers improvise themselves as "bombers" and stage the dress rehearsal of an "attack" on Liqui Moly Abestone. A paper firecracker for a small roar at 07:37, taken and recorded by the cameras. Everything under control. Just beware of those two fools!

Thank you!
