Abestone. A-Best-One. Reset your faith, Hard Enduro is a different matter
Abetone, Italy, 13th June 2021. Let’s be honest. Hard Enduro was born in France, but it developed its distinctly merciless nature in Italy. Each and every time a step ahead and over the set limit. Well, on the 9th, 10th and 11th July there is ABESTONE, making at least two steps ahead. Let’s see how.
The backstory. It was called extreme, it is Hard Enduro. It is a tale of its own that goes beyond the known technical and spectacular limits, from today, a world-wide championship.
FIM and WESS Promotion, who created the newborn World Championship, wanted a Hard Enduro competition to be held in Italy. So it was Abestone, the Italian competition of the world Hard Enduro championship. The Italians’ event for connoisseurs, for the passionate, for the champions who grew up in the birthplace of this Discipline. First and foremost, it is an event created by a specialist: Michele Bosi.
Abestone means Abetone, the vertical wonder of the Tosco – Emiliano ridge plus Enduro in addition to the wonder of Michele Bosi. An ancient mountain, cut by the erosion of implacable weather. At the centre of the white world in winter, while in summer, a light-filled paradise a step away from the sky. On a midsummer day it will also be the kingdom of Hard Enduro. The 9th – 10th – 11th July appointment is the official “baptism” of the first world cup, the first trial to be held in full, the first in the history of the championship to award points. It is the very first event…at full speed! To participate, smell, wonder, run, win or just to follow it on that very same pointy mountain ridge means having a date with history. Myths and amateurs, legends and enthusiasts. Direct confrontation, sharing, participation. Abestone is the World Championship for all, it is the unyielding and democratic confrontation of Hard Enduro. The former to win, the latter for the first medal in history. All on an equal footing, all together for three days. NO HELP, each and every one alone against the mountain in the Off Road event that brings back everyone into line.
Abestone is a celebration and World Championship. Three days of competitions, three days of celebrations. The Gods of Hard Enduro will set foot on Italy’s soil. Blazusiak, Jarvis, Lettenbichler, Bolt, Gomez, Roman, Walker, Young… awaited by the Italian competitors in the decisive trial… this is the substance, not a surrogate, few words yet action. The Abestone Trophy delivered from the hands of Michele Bosi should not be a dream, it is an ever closer reality, undefinable, unmissable.
